40 of Canada\u2019s most skilled Lawn Bowlers, coaches and managers\u00a0<\/strong>converged on Winnipeg, Manitoba on Aug 14-18th to take part in this year\u2019s Canadian Youth Championships. Held at the St. James Lawn Bowling Club, the 5-day competition featured U18 and U25 Men\u2019s and Women\u2019s Singles competition.<\/p>\n Saskatchewan High Performance Athletes Jordan Kos, Sydney Boyd, Alena Bergeron, Mason Boyd, Brandon Watson, Carter Watson, Lorrand Wong and Jordan Gailey represented Saskatchewan at the Nationals Championship.<\/p>\n Jean Roney, Bowls Sask Junior team coach was thrilled with the athlete\u2019s personal best performances and progression, stating \u201cOur Saskatchewan bowlers had a very strong showing and we and they can be proud of their accomplishments.\u00a0 There were some heart breaking losses but in these games there was spectacular bowling.\u00a0Congratulations to them all.<\/p>\n Highlight of this event was the silver medal awarded to Jordan Kos and the bronze medal to Sidney Boyd in the U25 Women\u2019s category. Brandon Watson ended up fourth in the U25 Men\u2019s category after losing the match to get to the gold medal game by only 1 point.<\/strong><\/p>\n
