Nutana Lawn Bowling Club to Host 2015 Junior/U25 National Championship
Saskatoon, Saskatchewan | October 21, 2014
Bowls Canada Boulingrin is excited to announce that the Nutana Lawn Bowling Club will be the host of the 2015 Junior/U25 National Championships from August 3-10, 2015. The co-chairs for the event are Rachel Larson and Craig Downey.
After learning Nutana LBC was selected to host the event, club members were thrilled. Alex Scott won a gold medal at the 2014 National Championships in Winnipeg in triples and is a proud member of Nutana LBC; “hosting the Juniors and U25 Canadian Championships is a great way of promoting and creating awareness about the world of lawn bowls. This is an amazing competition that provides opportunity and showcases youth. With the extra effort of those involved, we will aim to create an experience that will not only benefit bowlers, but the entire community”.
Nutana hosted the 2009 Juniors and U25 National Championships and it’s hospitality and volunteer spirit is well known. For the Juniors in 2015, members from other Saskatoon clubs as well as Regina will be coming together to plan a similarly successful event and look forward to welcoming all participants, officials and supporters to the province of Saskatchewan.
Located in beautiful Buena Vista Park in Saskatoon, Nutana Lawn Bowling Club is one of three lawn bowling clubs in the city. Nutana means “first born” and the club is situated where the first settlement on the east side of the river in Saskatoon was established. The club officially opened on June 7th, 1940 and has two greens.
