Garth Zummack

Garth has been a member of the Regina Lawn Bowling Club since 2007. From day one, he has contributed to the club in many capacities.

Garth served as a director on the Board of the Regina Lawn Bowling Club for two years, 2009 and 2010. He was responsible for purchasing and maintaining water and pop for sale at the club.

He served on two committees for Canadian championships hosted by the club, namely the 2012 Canadian Senior Triples and the 2013 Canadian Singles Championships. Garth was responsible for arranging the purchase of liquor products and organizing volunteers to manage the bar for the week. For one of the events he obtained a sponsor who provided free coffee and snacks for the athletics.

Despite managing a full time business, Garth always found time to volunteer for various activities. He was one of several volunteers who cut the grass on the grounds every three weeks for two years. He conducted the evening draw and set the greens for one week periods for three years. At the end of the season he was there to pull out the many annuals from the flower beds on the club grounds.

Garth was an enthusiastic promoter of the sport of lawn bowling. He conducted morning coaching sessions on a regular basis to introduce friends and acquaintances to lawn bowling. He was determined to increase the club membership. Garth was always willing to donate his time to coach newer members interested in improving their skills. Garth became a certified club coach in 2015.

Garth has been an advertising contributor to the handbook for five years. With the contribution of advertisers, the Regina Lawn Bowling Club is able to provide handbooks free of charge to its members.

Despite health issues this past year, Garth has been a regular fixture at the club. He became the designated ditch maintainer, ensuring the ditches of the four greens were cleaned regularly for weeds and elm seeds.

Bill Kalmakoff

As of 2015 Bill Kalmakoff has been a member of NLBC for 20 years. During this period, he has been actively involved at the club.

Bill’s experience as a professional accountant allowed him to take upon the duties of the Financial Auditor for the NLBC Executive for a decade.

He was a member of the organizing committees, Chair of Transportation, for both the 2002 Canadian Senior Triples and the 2009 Canadian Junior/U25. He was also a volunteer for the recent 2015 Canadian Junior/U25.

Bill can always be depended upon to volunteer at any activity at the club. He has been an active with our Learn-to-Bowl program, school groups, and provincial tournaments.

Bill has been an enthusiastic social bowler and has participated and won numerous club championships. Everyone enjoys having Bill on their team.
